Responsibilities of ADG:

  1. There will be eleven (11) Assistant District Governors, plus one (1) ADG Coordinator, each of whom is assigned to assist six (6) clubs within the areas as defined in the District’s organizational structure.
  2. The ADG acts as an assistant to the District Governor in designated clubs. In general, each ADG helps the District Governor in the execution of his responsibilities through advising, serving as a liason, interacting with District leaders and committees and by helping to promote Rotary International and the Rotary Foundation programs within the District. The assistants monitor and update the Governor on progress in areas of concern.
  3. The ADG has the official authority to conduct the Goals & Objectives portion of the District Governor’s official visit.
  4. ADGs can assist the Governor by:
    1. Making informal visits to each club at least four times a year and sending the “Club Visitation” form to the Governor. Key to the success of the year will be to focus on clubs with memberships below 25, to assist in the expansion of membership effort and activity.
    2. Keeping the Governor posted on progress of clubs and to advise the Governor and Extension Committee on the potential for establishing new clubs.
    3. Encouraging clubs to follow through on District Governor requests.
    4. Visiting each club in their assigned area, prior to the District Governor’s official visit, to determine the state of readiness for the Governor’s official visit.
    5. Accompanying the District Governor on official visits to clubs assigned to the ADG, by attending club assemblies and club meetings.
    6. Promoting attendance at the District Assembly, District Conference, other District functions and the International Convention.
    7. Organizing inter-club meetings within their area.
    8. Helping clubs with membership development & retention.
    9. Assisting clubs in obtaining speakers. Serve as motivational speaker within the District.
    10. Serve as a communications catalyst in the event of emergencies within and outside of the District.
    11. Participate on District committees and in District activities.
    12. Carrying out any and all other duties delegated by the District Governor.
